Philosophy and Religion
The department delivers ‘Religious Education’ and ‘Personal and Social Education’ Programmes for students in years 7, 8 and 9. At Key Stage 4 a ‘Philosophy, Religion and Ethics’ programme is provided for all students. A number of ‘active learning’ strategies are used to engage students and all members of the department have been trained in the ‘Community of Enquiry’ teaching method.
The Estyn report, which followed the school inspection, was highly complimentary regarding the achievement of learners within lessons delivered by the Philosophy and Religion department.
