Title of the month....
What makes us special?
We have hundreds of new fiction books and many new popular releases. Our reference section provides a wide range of books that can help with homework tasks and projects. This is reinforced by our Internet computers for research use.
We also have lots of new books arriving monthly.
'Word of the week' is a competition that challenges students to find the correct definition of a selected word and be the first to inform us of it to win a prize.
We have a light hearted, monthly quiz which is held on a Friday lunch time covering topics such as recent media coverage, politics, general knowledge and of course literacy news!
Our library is furbished with comfy chairs, tables and weekly magazines and newspapers. We feel that this welcoming environment has helped make the library a popular choice of places to go in free time.
Our recent celebrations..
World book day March 2011 our library took a trip through platform 9/34 into Diagon alley where we entered the world of Harry Potter. We even had a visit from a real live Hedwig! Mike Church came in to celebrate the day by entertaining us with his fascinating stories. All the English staff dressed in character costume along with most of year 7.
I would like to thank Tania and Richard Oliver for their art work and Lucy Alexander for all her help and support in painting the house shields which were so precise.
The birds of prey were bought in by Falconary uk.
Don't forget to keep checking the next page for more updates of what
we've done and whats to come.
