Students from all Year groups were nominated by their teachers to receive an award for achieving outstanding grades and levels in their subjects. We also welcomed back some students who left Year 13 last year so they could be awarded their hard-earned A Level certificates. Presenting the certificates was our very special Guest of Honour, former Deputy Head Boy Matthew Price. Matthew is currently in his final year at Cardiff University where he studying Psychology. He spoke eloquently about his time at the school and his subsequent studies and is starting a career with BUPA later in the year.

Awards were given for all curriculum areas and the ceremony finished with the presentation of our most prestigious award - the Key Stage Academy Award for the most outstanding performance from a student at each Key Stage. This year, the winners were: Hollie Wong (Key Stage 5), Jack Bowen (Key Stage 4) and Samuel Jenkins (Key Stage 3)

There was also a very special award for last year’s Head Boy, Josh Hunt. Josh’s outstanding ability and his achievements were honoured here as he is about to take his final exams before hopefully starting at Trinity College, Cambridge in September to study Mathematics.
